We are offering a Kintsugi class on June 3 from 6:00-8:00, with a live demonstration, supplies, and mental health and artist volunteers to guide you through the process.
We welcome you to sign up for the class, which seems to be filling up fast, so please contact us as soon as possible via email or phone to put your name on the list. In order to take the class, you will need to sign up through the Get Started tab to become a Participant of The Art Room, and then let us know you are interested in this class. If you are already a Participant, please sign up in The Art Room or contact us and let us know your interest. We hope you find healing and discovery in this class! Here is a description of the art of Kintsugi:
Kintsugi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. This art has been used as a means to process and heal from various traumas.
