Zoom Class | Picasso Style Portraits

  • The Art Room 416 S Elm St #101 Denton, TX, 76201 USA (map)

We are excited to announce another class in our Altered Book Series, Picasso Style Portraits, taught by Cynthia Evetts and Pip Butt!

Picasso invented cubism to emphasize the difference between reality and painting. By combining fragments of both what he saw and what he remembered, he began the first abstract art movement. This week we will share some quick and simple techniques to get you started on a Picasso style portrait. You can think of it as a portrait of someone, or it could also be a self-portrait, expressing something about how you see yourself or are feeling at the moment.

You will want to gather the following items:

  • Altered book or blank paper

  • Tools for drawing and coloring-- we recommend colored pencils and/or markers.
