Kirigami is a variation of origami that includes cutting paper as well as folding. We did some kirigami experimentation with our Pop Up pages a couple of weeks ago. This week we will be exploring technique a bit further. Then we can apply it to pages in our Altered Books- if we choose. If there was ever a technique that could be described as simple, stunning, and elegant all in one- this is it.

For this class you will need the following:

• 4-5 sheets of copy paper

• 1 or 2 sheets of decorative papers such as origami or scrapbook (design on one side/ solid color or white on the other)

• scissors

• ruler

• pencil

• glue stick, or glue

• black marker - like a regular sharpie

• your Altered Book if you want to apply this technique to your book
