Workshop Wednesday--Color Theory

  • The Art Room 416 S Elm St #101 Denton, TX, 76201 USA (map)

In this class, we will be receiving a comprehensive overview of basic color theory as it relates to the color wheel, touching on topics such as colors in relationship to each other on the wheel, color themes & groupings, shades & tints, etc. We will learn the basic foundations of color theory by studying Josef Albers' book "The Interaction of Color". You will walk away with colorful compositions that create the illusion of transparency, change two colors into one, and change one color into two!

The class will be taught by Hilari Oller, a born and raised Dentonite! She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Fashion Design in 2006 and with my MFA in Fibers in 2010. Her personal artwork is mostly three-dimensional sculptures constructed of layered paper and paintings/drawings that are brightly colored, abstract, and organic.

This class is for members only and by reservation, with 5 members minimum and 15 maximum.
