We will continue to explore our series on water by learning to paint a gentle river. You can join at any point in this series, as each class has its own instruction about painting water. Here is a poem that spoke to us:
The Singing River
Ernestine Northover
The river tumbles onwards to the sea,
And rushes, racing over rocks and stones,
And boulders, branches, pebbles, sand and scree,
Singing so many melodies to me.
We've also included some photos to work from below, and the supplies you will need:
Watercolor paper, 140 lbs., 9"x12"
Watercolor set, or multiple colors of your choice
Tape, blue masking tape is best, to secure your paper on a hard surface so it won't buckle
Tissues, cloth, brushes of your choice with a variety of textures
Your imagination and your willingness to explore movement, tone, color, and water
