We will be working on a monochromatic watercolor painting. We removed the challenge of choosing the right color so we could concentrate on value. This allows us time to focus on details and the spiritual essence of the scene. Monochromatic studies are a great tool to learn to control shade, value, form and texture.
We will all be doing the same image, with your choice of color. Suggested colors are Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red, or Yellow.
You will need:
A good sheet of watercolor/ art paper, 140 lb. weight is best, keep it small ( 9” x12” is recommended ). We will have some available in the Art Room for Pick up
Watercolors, if you need watercolors please let us know beforehand
A small round brush
A medium size flat brush
Sponges
Tissues
Tape to stretch your paper on a hard surface so it won’t buckle.
