We here at The Art Room have been monitoring the situation that’s developed over the last few days regarding the COVID-19 virus, and after consulting with Denton's Public Affairs Deputy Director about the recent Disaster declaration for Denton, we have reluctantly decided that we will close The Art Room for two weeks. This means that all open studio times and our scheduled Printmaking class will be canceled until the end of March.   

 Initially we really hoped that we’d be able to stay open, out of a desire to be an oasis in this storm and to help you all cope with the stress of the situation. But, we also want to be responsible in the midst of this uncertainty and do everything we can to help reduce the community spread of the COVID-19 virus.  

 Even though we'll be closed for a bit, we still want to support The Art Room participants, so we've created some sanitized art kits for anyone who wants or needs one.  We will make these free kits available for you to pick up this week at the following times:

 Wednesday, March 18 - 6-7 pm

Thursday, March 19 - 6-7 pm

Friday, March 20 - 11 am -1 pm

 Please feel free to stop by and pick up a kit at The Art Room because we really hope that you’ll continue to create, draw, paint, and collage as the most positive way to use any free time while at home.  And if the above times just won’t work with your schedule, please email me directly and we’ll arrange another time that’s convenient for you.  

 We’ll also be communicating with you on social media and hope that you’ll follow us on our social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram.  Our Facebook page is The Art Room Denton, and on Instagram it is theartroom_denton.  And, we hope you’ll post images of your artwork on our Facebook page and/or tag us on Instagram @theartroom_denton.
